About
Welcome! I enjoy designing and creating artwork, sewing, artsy/crafty things, writing short stories, sewing, and I’m a huge flamingo fan.
Being a retired graphic designer from a major university in central Florida I now devote my time to the fun stuff (although my job was the best).
Surface Pattern Design is a favorite venue I’m loving. Think fabric, wrapping paper, and wallpaper. My custom designs on fabric and wallpaper are available for purchase by the yard, roll, or on home decor at My Shop at Spoonflower.com.
Sewing has always been a fun hobby, and being able to utilize my own fabric designs makes sewing even more special. The Travel Jewelry Pouches are super little gems for travel, which I thought were the cutest. I started sewing them using my own fabric. Friends and family all wanted one, so my hobby is now my business. Currently working on a few other bag options but these little gems are awesome and can hold trinkets simply and easily for traveling.
Giving back to those who gave so much for me and our country's freedom is a top priority. I volunteer my graphic design services for the all-volunteer Support Committee at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery where I design ads, flyers and programs for major cemetery sponsored events.
I’m a Gold Star sister to a Vietnam helicopter gunship pilot and still a devoted advocate for full accountability of our armed forces personnel who have not made it home. My brother was Missing In Action in Vietnam for 37 years. Visit his website at firebird91.org for information.
Love where life leads you each and every day. There is always something new to design, create, and inspire for everyone.
Thank you,
Marylou
